Literary - Felons and Fingerprints

At our first meeting of the year we were delighted to welcome Michael Carrigan. His subject “Felons and Fingerprints”. Michael Carrigan spent most of his career as the first non-policeman to qualify as a fingerprint expert and has travelled abroad to train police in other countries in forensic science. He explained that fingerprints are completely unique, and how the process of taking them has improved the work of detection. He illustrated his task by relating some very amusing incidents he was involved in. A very entertaining evening enjoyed by the audience.

Our programme for February includes return visitors, Geraldine Horn and Manuela Sowter, the latter will talk on some lesser known parts of northern Spain, which is full of history and wonderful scenery.

The Society will be very pleased to see anyone who is interested in our programme.
