Literary - Are you sitting comfortably?

The Society had the pleasure of a further return visit by Geraldine Horn, a local resident. The subject for her talk being “Are you sitting comfortably?” Over the years Geraldine has collected a variety of stories, some sad, some humorous. She is continually writing poems and letters, and the audience were given many recent additions to her collection.

We had a delightful story of a grandmother and grandchild describing their preparation and journey to the cinema; a most interesting story of a book followed by a delightful poem on Wales. Highly amusing was a letter to her bank by a lady customer of 98 and a morning poem called “Companionship for Valentine's Day finishing with a story of a wine tasting evening. A most entertaining evening.

On March 3 rd we shall welcome Sandra W0inter who will demonstrate the art and outline the history of tune ringing and hand bells.

Our last meeting of the season will be the Annual General Meeting at which we shall have a bring and buy stall, followed by a surprise item. The latter is open to anyone who will be most welcome.
