Ministers Message

The month of September traditionally sees the start of the new term's work in the life of the local Church. Many have been away for a break or taken time to "Chill out" at home, hopefully we are now refreshed and looking forward to getting together again as a Churhc Family.
September is also the month when we celebrate Harvest; again I think a good thing as we begin the new term's work on a note of Thanksgiving.
We can look back to the Summer Break and give thanks for the Beach or the City Centre of the lounger in hte gsrden, we can remember people we met, and all that we did.... and Give Thanks.
Harvest will afford us the opportunity to remember God the Creator's goodness again, as we sing "All is safely gathered in". This year our minds will also be full of the horrific pictures from Sudan where so many cannot count on anythnig... let alone a square meal.
There will be an opportunity to give to the Christian Aid Sudan Appeal during our time of Thanksgiving at Harvest.
I have been concerend by the number of people who have said recently that they would like to see less of me!!!!
I understand this comes from a concern that my waistline seems to be growing!!! Well with this in mind I am about to embark on a "Sponsored Slim" the proceeds gonig to the YMCA Appeal.
Details and sponsorship opportunites will be made avaliable in September. I look forward to your support for this very well deserving cause (that is the YMCA Appeal).
Shalom
John
